An institutional commitment, not a policy.
Research that stays locked away serves no one. EUBA was built on the belief that knowledge — especially knowledge produced through AI simulation at unprecedented speed — belongs to the world.
"We produce knowledge to advance the world. When we keep it open, the world advances faster."
This is not a compliance statement. It is the reason EUBA exists as an independent institution — free to share what it discovers, without constraint.
Every discovery that remains unpublished is a foundation that no one can build on. Every simulation result locked behind an institutional wall is a problem that someone else will spend years solving again.
EUBA's AI-native research model produces knowledge at a speed the world has not seen in academic institutions. That speed creates a responsibility: to share, to publish, and to make the outputs of this research engine available to those who can use them.
Open science at EUBA is not an act of generosity. It is an act of institutional logic — and the natural consequence of believing that knowledge is not a competitive advantage. The application of knowledge is.
EUBA maintains two distinct research channels — each with its own publication principles, clearly separated and transparently recorded.
Research initiated by EUBA's own Research Architects — without external sponsorship — is published openly and immediately. No embargo. No restriction. Available to anyone, anywhere.
Research conducted in partnership with an external organisation is published according to the sponsor's preference — openly, or for the sponsor's exclusive use. Both options are fully supported. Both are recorded.
Each year, EUBA publishes an aggregate summary of research output across both channels. No partner names. No research details. Simply the institution's collective record — how much was produced, and how much was shared.
* Figures represent the target distribution for EUBA's inaugural research year. Actual figures will be published at year end.
Research does not end at discovery. It begins there. EUBA publishes across multiple formats to ensure findings reach the audiences who can use them — researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the public.
EUBA's open science commitment is aligned with the world's leading frameworks for open, transparent, and accessible research.
