Euro-Balkan University was founded in 1999. For twenty-five years, it served its purpose — educating students, building institutional capacity, and connecting a region to knowledge and opportunity.
And then, in 2024, we looked honestly at what was happening in the world. Artificial intelligence had ceased to be a subject of research and become an infrastructure for it. The gap between what universities produce and what the world actually needs had become impossible to ignore. The model of enrollment-driven, diploma-granting higher education — built for a different era — was showing the first signs of structural failure.

This was not a crisis response. It was a deliberate act. The hardest kind of institutional decision: choosing to leave behind something that still works, because something better is possible.
EUBA is an independent research and innovation university. We do not grant degrees. We do not measure success by the number of students who pass through our doors. We exist for one purpose: to solve problems that have not yet been solved.
We are the world's first university model designed for the age of AI — not adapted to it. Every institution that came before integrated AI into an existing structure. We built the structure around AI.

For sponsored research, the publication decision belongs to the sponsor. We respect that. And we record it. Each year, EUBA publishes the aggregate ratio of open to private research across all its work. No names. No details. Simply the institution's record — held publicly, permanently, and without exception.
We consider open publication an act of institutional courage. When a sponsor chooses it, we say so. When they do not, we note that too. Science advances through accumulation. Every study that remains unpublished is a foundation no one can build on.
EUBA was reborn in 2025. We are one institution, in one city, at the beginning of something we cannot yet fully see. That is not a weakness. It is the condition of every institution that has ever mattered.
